TRIBAL MARKS

Tribal mark  is a traditional mark like a straight line drawn on the face as a means of identifying and differentiating according to their culture and tribes, it is been used world wide but it is mostly common in African continent,some tribal marks are used for beautifying the body while some are used for recognition among people in the same group.

Most Africa have a strong believe in tribal mark,but according to history tribal marks has been in existence for a thousand years.Instances of tribal marks are as follows

• TRIBAL MARKS IN YORUBA

 Yoruba which is one of the ethnics group in Nigeria, this ethnic is  respected for tribal marks, there are different tribal marks among the yoruba which are used  for beautifying themselves and to identify a family according to culture.
Tribal marks are design by piercing their skin and adding a charcoal to it, it usually looks like scar mostly drawn on cheeks.

According to history, tribal marks came to Nigeria during the pre- colonial era when people are being captured for slave trade, it is written on their face for family to recognise themselves as the same family members.

In oyo state tribal marks is usually written on the body and face of every first born in a family of the town.

Modern days tribal marks are far more different from the old age.This tribal marks is mostly common among peoples of the Europeans countries which is now known as TATTOO, tattoo is a drawing from different nature drawn or written on part of the body, this is done with the use of machine piercing through the skin, tattoo are used for adoring the body, tattoo is very attractive and very gorgeous on the body,some are drawn by piercing the skin with needle,tattoo is everywhere in the world used for different purpose,a person with tattoo is easily to recognise.

 Tribal mark is a large mark or scar inscribed on the face which is done manually or with the use of machine.
Tribal mark inscribed manually is done with the use of knives,blades or any sharp objects which would present the definite shape and beauty of the mark inscribed on the face,then the blood will make the scar black and then a substance is added the scar to relieve the pain and blood coming out of the wound.
